FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
YOU HAVE QUESTIONS - WE HAVE ANSWERS
Are all of the children or youth who are waiting for permanency across Canada profiled on Canada's Waiting Children and Youth website?
The number of children or youth featured on this website depends upon the authorization of child welfare agencies across Canada.
The Adoption Council of Canada is actively working with child welfare agencies and provincial/territorial governments in referring children and youth to CWCY.
As children and youth profiles are added to the site, those who have a Private Membership will be notified by email.
Why is there a $75.00 membership fee?
We charge a membership fee to cover our administrative costs related to Canada's Waiting Children and Youth website. We also prepare and send out regular updates throughout the year, and liaise with any adoption social workers on your behalf if you submit an expression of interest in any of the children or youth profiled on CWCY.
Any purchase made (private membership fee) is final and non-refundable.
Why can't I see the Private Child Profiles?
In order to access the full Child and Youth Profiles, there is a three step process:
Your information will be reviewed, and once you are granted access you will be directed to the payment page (via the email that you will be provided)
Log in using your username and the password that you created in order to complete the payment, at which point you will be granted private membership and have access to the Private Profiles of Canada's Waiting Children and Youth.
Who are the children and youth referred to Canada's Waiting Children and Youth website?
The children or youth referred to CWCY are exceptional individuals who are in need of a permanent family. Canada's Waiting Children and Youth widens the prospect of a match among these youth and prospective adoptive parents. Many are older children or youth, or live with visible/invisible (dis)Abilities.
