Interprovincial Adoption Guidelines

In Canada, adoption is mandated by each province and territory. Prospective adoptive parents must therefore proceed according to the laws and regulations of the province or territory in which they live.

The Canada's Waiting Children and Youth program highlights child and youth profiles from provinces and territories across Canada. Our CWCY program is intended to support placement of waiting children and youth with adoptive families. Please note, some provinces and territories do not participate in interprovincial adoption. If a child/youth or sibling group would like to be placed for adoption within their community, this will be noted on their profile(s).
